High blood pressure can impair blood vessels in the kidneys, decreasing their ability to work properly. When the force of blood stream is high, blood vessels stretch so blood flows more easily. Eventually, this elongating scars and weakens blood vessels all over the body, including those in the kidneys.

If the kidneys blood vessels are damaged, they may stop eradicating wastes and extra fluid from the body. And it shows the symptoms like swelling called Edema, which occurs when the kidneys cannot get rid of excessive fluid and salt. Edema can occur in the legs, feet or ankles and less frequently in the hands or face. Once kidney function diminutions further, symptoms can include.
